Laos Nouchan Thavong (G) put on an amazing game in the last round for Luang and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 7.
The guard had the game-high 23 points adding five rebounds and seven assists for Luang in his team's victory, helping them to beat Hitech (#1, 6-1) 101-94. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Luang maintains the 4th position in Thailand TBSL. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Luang will need more victories to improve their 5-2 record. In the team's last game Thavong had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Luang, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Thavong has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 21.4ppg), assists (5th best: 8.0apg) and averages solid 54.2% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 30-year old American center Raymond Miller (204-C-88) of Pilipinas. Miller impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 37 points and 21 rebounds. Bad luck as Pilipinas was edged by slightly higher-ranked Malaysia Matrix (2-5) 96-95. This loss caused Pilipinas to drop to 7th position in the standings. 5 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Pilipinas managed to get this year. Miller is one of the most experienced players at Pilipinas and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 26.7ppg (#2). He also registered 15.9 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Christien Charles (216-F/C-81) of top-ranked Hitech. Charles scored 24 points and grabbed sixteen rebounds (!!!). Despite Charles' great performance Hitech lost 94-101 to #4 ranked Luang. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Hitech had another "accident". It may be a crucial game and cause dropping from the group of top ranked teams. The record is still good, but 1st lost game is hopefully really an accident. Charles' teammates are also very good. That's why having such high stats is even more impressive. Charles has a great season in Thailand. After only 3 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.7ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 14.0rpg (3rd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Avery Scharer (185-PG-86) of Hitech - 26 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists
5. Bobby Syvanthong (179-PG) of Luang - 7 points, 15 rebounds and 16 assists
6. Nick Demusis (193-F) of Kabayan - 22 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists
7. Milos Cabarkapa (208-C-93) of Adroit - 12 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists
8. Nithipol Sawathavorn (189-C/F-95) of SWU - 14 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists
9. Panurat Chutsiriyingyong (192-F) of Luang - 32 points and 5 rebounds
10. Xavier Dupree (206-F-94) of PEA - 11 points, 20 rebounds and 6 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The eight-placed Mono Vampire Basketball Club completed the upset against the top-seeded Formosa Dreamers at home, 70-68, in Game 2 of the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) quarterfinals. Romeo Travis (198-PF-84, college: Akron) made two winning plays in the clutch to allow last season's runners-up to advance to the semifinals after scoring the go-ahead basket, and forcing a jump ball that gave them the final possession with 2.8 seconds to go in the game.
