Hitech - Mono Vampire 101-93

Hitech fired past Mono Vampire to take 1-0 lead in the championship series. Hitech forced 29 Mono Vampire turnovers and had a 23-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Hitech made 8 blocks. 28 personal fouls committed by Mono Vampire helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American guard Avery Scharer (188-86, college: Shoreline CC) stepped up and scored 23 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 8 steals for the winners and international guard Tyler Lamb (196-91, college: Long Beach St.) chipped in 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Scharer is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side American forward Michael Singletary (198-88, college: Texas Tech) responded with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and Filipino-American point guard Jason Brickman (181-91, college: LIU Brooklyn) scored 9 points, 8 rebounds and 15 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
