American Guard Avery Scharer (188-G-86) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Hitech, receiving a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 31-year old player had a double-double of 43 points and 13 rebounds, while his team outclassed Mad Goat (#8, 4-9) with 45-point margin 121-76. It allowed Hitech to consolidate first place in the Thailand TBL. Hitech has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 12-1. In the team's last game Scharer had a remarkable 70.8% from 2-point range. He turned to be Hitech's top player in his first season with the team. Former Shoreline Community College star has very solid stats this year. Scharer is in league's top in assists (4th best: 6.2apg) and averages impressive 3.5spg and 60.9% FGP. Worth to mention Scharer played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

The second best player in last round's games was 25-year old Jamaican Anthony Allen (213-C-92) of T-REX. Allen had a very good evening with a double-double of 33 points and 25 rebounds. Bad luck as T-REX lost that game 88-111 to the higher-ranked Black Scorpions (#7, 5-8). T-REX are still at the very bottom. 11 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories T-REX managed to get this year. Allen is one of the most experienced players at T-REX and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.1ppg (#4). His other stats are also decent: 18.0rpg and 3.7apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was Filipino forward Mark Yee (191-F-82) of PEA (#3). Yee showcased his all-around game by recording 19 points, fifteen rebounds (!!!) and nine assists in the last round. He was a key player of PEA, leading his team to a 100-92 win against the lower-ranked Mekong United (#9, 4-9). PEA needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 4 lost games. Yee has a very solid season. In 2 games in Thailand he scored 22.0ppg.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Michael Earl (203-F-85) of Mekong United - 33 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
5. Samuel Deguara (223-C-91) of Mono Vampire - 24 points, 13 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Jason Brickman (181-PG-91) of Mono Vampire - 23 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists
7. Anthony McClain (211-C-88) of TGE - 23 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists
8. Tawatchai Suktub) of Black Scorpions - 32 points and 3 assists
9. Panurat Chutsiriyingyong) of Black Scorpions - 26 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
10. Zach Andrews (203-F/C-85) of Bangkok Tigers - 11 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

The Player of the Week awards are presented by Interperformances. Interperformances is a full-service agency specializing in the representation of professional athletes the world-over. The eight-placed Mono Vampire Basketball Club completed the upset against the top-seeded Formosa Dreamers at home, 70-68, in Game 2 of the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) quarterfinals. Romeo Travis (198-PF-84, college: Akron) made two winning plays in the clutch to allow last season's runners-up to advance to the semifinals after scoring the go-ahead basket, and forcing a jump ball that gave them the final possession with 2.8 seconds to go in the game.
