TAYLOR STATHAM

American-Filipino Taylor Statham (198-G-92) had an amazing evening in the last round for Mad Goat and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 25-year old guard had a double-double of 36 points and eleven rebounds, while his team beat Mono Thew (#2, 11-5) 89-82. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Mad Goat maintains the 4th position in Thailand TBSL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Mad Goat will need more victories to improve their 10-6 record. In the team's last game Statham had a remarkable 56.5% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. He turned to be Mad Goat's top player in his first season with the team. Cal State - San Bernardino graduate has very impressive stats this year. Statham is league's best scorer averaging so far 28.6ppg. Statham is in league's top in rebounds (5th best: 12.2rpg) and assists (8th best: 6.0apg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was 24-year old American power forward Jalen Robinson (206-F/C-93) of Luang. Robinson impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 32 points and 17 rebounds. It was enough for Luang to edge the higher-ranked Mono Vampire (#3, 10-6) by 3 points 88-85. This victory allowed Luang to move up to 6th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 6-10 record. Robinson is one of the most experienced players at Luang and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 28.5ppg (#2). His other stats are also decent: 16.8rpg and 6.1apg.

The third best performed player last round was American J.D. Weatherspoon (198-F-92) of PEA (#5). Weatherspoon showcased his all-around game by recording 21 points, twenty three rebounds (!!!) and five assists in the last round. He was a key player of PEA, leading his team to a 91-83 win against slightly lower-ranked Mekong United (#7, 6-10). PEA needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 8 victories and 8 lost games. Weatherspoon has a great season in Thailand. After 16 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 26.8ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 14.0rpg (3rd best).

Other top performing players last week:
4. Tyrone Marshall (203-C-92) of Mad Goat - 23 points and 10 rebounds
5. DeAngelo Hamilton (203-F/C-90) of Mad Goat - 16 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists
6. Matt Douglas Van Pelt (178-PG-91) of Mekong United - 26 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists
7. Tawatchai Suktub) of Mono Thew - 34 points and 3 rebounds
