Thailand earned the opening victory at the 2015 SEA Games in Singapore. They beat Philippines in opener. Thailand used a 17:8 run in the second frame to gain a 9-point halftime lead. Philippines cut the deficit at 8-point margin at the final intermission. They stayed competitive throughout the fourth frame but Thailand survived the challenge and sealed the victory. Juthamas Jantakan (174-G-85) produced 20 points and 9 rebounds to pace the Thai team. Penphan Yothanan (170-C-83) accounted for 17 points in the victory. Afril Bernardino responded with 19 points for Philippines. Analyn Almazan (180-C-88) had 8 points in the loss.
