Diallo number one in Taiwan TPBL for round 27 (by Hoops Agents)

Mali Cheick Diallo (206-C/F-1996) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Taiwan Beer Leopards, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 27.
The 29-year old player had a double-double of 31 points and 18 rebounds, while his team beat Kaohsiung A. (#7, 9-26) 99-85. It allowed Leopards to consolidate first place in the Taiwanese TPBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Taiwan Beer L. has a very solid 23-12 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Diallo had a remarkable 86.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be Leopards's top player in his first season with the team. Former University of Kansas star has very solid stats this year. Diallo is in league's top in points (8th best: 19.2ppg), rebounds (4th best: 11.7rpg) and averages impressive 60.9% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Jason Washburn (213-C-1990, agency: Pensack Sports) of New Taipei Kings. Washburn had a very good evening with a double-double of 26 points and 12 rebounds. It was enough for Kings to edge the higher-ranked Dreamers (#2, 22-14) 105-99. Kings' 5th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 18-15 record is not bad and everything may still change. Washburn is well-known at Kings and is a proven leader in his second season with the team. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 19.0ppg (#9). He also registered 10.3 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Brandon Gilbeck (213-C-1996) of league's second-best Formosa Dreamers. Gilbeck got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for thirteen rebounds . Despite Gilbeck's great performance the Dreamers lost 99-105 to the lower-ranked Kings (#5, 18-15). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Dreamers needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 22 victories and 14 lost games. Gilbeck has a very solid season. In 23 games in Taiwan he scored 12.0ppg. He also has 10.0rpg, 2.0bpg and a FGP of 63.1%. Brandon Gilbeck has also Taiwanese passport and can play in the league with a status of domestic player.
