The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Pilots (16-2) against third ranked Braves on Saturday night. Pilots were rolled over by third ranked Braves (9-12) 114-95. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Pilots. They outrebounded Pilots 57-37 including 19 on the offensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Fubon Braves made 9 blocks. It was a good game for American guard Archie Goodwin (196-1994, college: Kentucky) who led his team to a victory with 38 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The former international guard Chih-Chieh Lin (192-1982) contributed with 21 points for the winners. American center Alec Brown (216-1992, college: Green Bay) answered with 18 points and 5 rebounds for Pilots. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fubon Braves maintains third place with 9-12 record having four points less than leader Pilots. Pilots at the other side still keep top position with two games lost. Fourth-ranked YKE (3-15) used its home court advantage to challenge third ranked Braves (9-12) in Hsinchu. Braves managed to secure only two-point victory 91-89. However their fans expected easier game. It was a great evening for the former international swingman Josh Chou (193-1998) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists. Mouhamed Mbaye helped adding 24 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward Cameron McGriff (201-1997, college: OK State) with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Fubon Braves maintains third place with 9-12 record having four points less than leader Pilots. YKE lost fifth consecutive game.
