Zhang number one in Taiwan WSBL for round 26 (by Hoops Agents)

International Power forward Yi-Wen Zhang (173-PF-1996) had an amazing evening in the last round for Taiwan Power, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 26.
The 29-year old player was the main contributor (22 points, four rebounds and two assists) to her team's victory, helping them to beat Chunghua T. (#2, 12-14) 68-63. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Power maintains the 4th position in Taiwanese WSBL. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked at the very bottom. They already lost 20 games and recorded just six victories. In the team's last game Zhang had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at Power, through which she has constantly improved. Yi-Wen Zhang has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (9th best: 9.1ppg).

The second best player in last round's games was young American Ajae Petty (190-F-2002) of Taiyuan Textile. Petty had a very good evening with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Taiyuan Textile lost that game 63-83 to slightly higher-ranked Cathay Life (#1, 24-2). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Taiyuan T. still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 10-16 record. Petty is one of the most experienced players at Taiyuan T. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was international guard Szu-Chin Pan (170-G-1992) of league's second-best Chunghua Telecom. Pan scored 18 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Despite Pan's great performance the Chunghwa Telecom lost 63-68 to #4 ranked Taipower. But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of Chunghua T. ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 14 games, recording just twelve victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Pan could help Chunghua T. to bring them higher in the standings. Pan has a great season in Taiwan. After 26 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 4.4apg (best passer).
