Willis' double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

29-year old CYP-USAn center Darral Willis (206-C-1996) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Taipei Taishin Mars and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 23.
He had a double-double of 28 points and 18 rebounds, while his team edged out N.Taipei CTBC (#5, 14-15) 91-89. Mars maintains the 6th position in Taiwanese league. Taipei TM is currently ranked second from the bottom. They need more victories to improve their 10-20 record. In the team's last game Willis had a remarkable 76.9% from 2-point range. He turned to be Mars's top player in his first season with the team. Wichita State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Willis is in league's top in points (2nd best: 23.8ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 13.2rpg) and averages solid 51.5% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Makur Maker (212-C/F-2000). He is Kenyan-South Sudanese in his first season at Taipei TM. In the last game Maker recorded an impressive double-double of 39 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Taipei Taishin Mars lost that game 102-116 to slightly higher-ranked Kings (#4, 16-14). Mars managed to keep the same 6th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 10-20 record. Maker is one of the most experienced players at Mars and similarly like Darral Willis has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to center Jason Washburn (213-C-1990, agency: Pensack Sports) of New Taipei Kings (#4). Washburn showcased his all-around game by recording 22 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Kings, leading his team to a 116-102 easy win against slightly lower-ranked Taipei TM (#6, 10-20). Kings needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 16 victories and 14 lost games. Washburn has a great season in Taiwan. After 20 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.4ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 10.2rpg (7th best). He also has 1.3bpg and a FGP of 60.8%.
