Oshlynn Brown gets MVP of the Week award for Taiwanese WSBL (by Hoops Agents)

American Oshlynn Brown (185-F) had a great game in the last round for league's second-best Chunghua Telecom and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 24.
The forward had a double-double of 21 points and 11 rebounds, while her team beat Taipower (#4, 5-19) 66-52. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Chunghwa Telecom maintains the 2nd position in Taiwanese WSBL. Chunghua T. is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 12-12 record. Brown just recently signed at Chunghwa Telecom, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Rutgers University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Brown is league's best scorer averaging so far 16.0ppg. Brown is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 11.5rpg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was center Wei-Qing Liao (180-C) of Taiyuan Textile. Liao impressed basketball fans with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Bad luck as Taiyuan Textile lost that game 68-86 to slightly higher-ranked Cathay Life (#1, 22-2). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Taiyuan T. still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 9-15 record. Liao is a newcomer at Taiyuan T. and despite she is not a team leader yet, every game she becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 9.3ppg (#8). She also registered 5.7 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was Chiao-Chun Huang (171-G-2001) of top-ranked Cathay Life Tigers. Huang scored 22 points. She was a key player of Tigers, leading her team to a 86-68 easy win against #3 ranked Taiyuan T.. Many experts and fans count Cathay Life as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 22 victories and only two lost games. They are currently at the very top of the standings. Huang has a great season in Taiwan. After 18 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 5.0ppg (3rd best), rebounds with 1.4rpg (4th best) and assists with 1.5apg (7th best).
