Hunter Maldonado gets MVP of the Week award for Taiwanese TPBL

American Hunter Maldonado (201-G-1999, agency: Octagon Europe) put on an amazing game in the last round for Kaohsiung Aquas and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 22.
The 26-year old guard got a double-double of 31 points and 13 assists, while his team beat Taipei TM (#6, 9-19) 112-104. Aquas maintains the 7th position in Taiwanese TPBL. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. Kaohsiung A. have already lost 21 games and recorded just nine victories. In the team's last game Maldonado had a remarkable 70.6% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at Aquas, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Hunter Maldonado averages this season 25.0ppg, 8.2rpg and 6.6apg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Cypriot center Darral Willis (206-C-1996) of Taipei Taishin Mars. Willis impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 25 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as Mars lost that game 104-112 to slightly lower-ranked Kaohsiung A. (#7, 9-21). Taipei TM managed to keep the same 6th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 9-19 record. Willis is a newcomer at Taipei TM and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.7ppg (#2). He also registered 13.5 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Drew Pember (211-F/C-2000) of Hsinchu Lioneers (#3). Pember scored 20 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Lioneers, leading his team to a 103-99 win against slightly lower-ranked N.Taipei CTBC (#5, 14-14). Lioneers needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 15 victories and 12 lost games. Pember has a great season in Taiwan. After 26 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.3ppg (6th best) and rebounds with 11.9rpg (3rd best).

10. Trey Thompkins (208-F-1990) of Dreamers - 23 points and 6 rebounds
