Petty's double-double lands her Player of the Week award

Ajae Petty

23-year old American forward Ajae Petty (190-F-2002) put on an amazing game in the last round for Taiyuan Textile and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 22.
She had a double-double of 21 points and 15 rebounds, while her team outclassed Taipower (#4, 5-17) with 26-point margin 90-64. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Taiyuan Textile maintains the 3rd position in Taiwanese WSBL. Taiyuan T. is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 9-13 record. Petty just recently signed at Taiyuan Textile, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Ajae Petty averages this season 21.0ppg and 14.0rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Shelby Cheslek (196-C-1992, agency: LBM Management) of top-ranked Cathay Life Tigers. She is American center in her first season at Cathay Life. In the last game Cheslek recorded an impressive 12 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. It was enough for Tigers to edge slightly lower-ranked Chunghua T. (#2, 10-12) by 5 points 77-72. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Cathay Life consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. Her team belongs to top of the standings with 20-2 record and is considered one of the main candidates for the league title. Cheslek is one of the most experienced players at Cathay Life and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Taiyuan T.'s star - center Wei-Qing Liao (180-C). Liao showcased her all-around game by recording 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. She was another key player of Taiyuan Textile, helping her team with a 90-64 easy win against #4 ranked Taipower. The chances of Taiyuan Textile ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 13 games, recording just nine victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Liao could help Taiyuan T. to bring them higher in the standings. Liao has a great season in Taiwan. After 21 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 8.9ppg (8th best) and rebounds with 5.7rpg (5th best).
