An interesting game for Taiyuan Textile (9-13) which played against one of their biggest challengers Power (5-17). Third ranked Taiyuan Textile had an easy win 90-64. Taiyuan T. dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Power's 22 and made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. Taiyuan T. outrebounded Taipower 44-21 including a 31-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Taiyuan T. looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Taipower's players. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Ajae Petty (190-2002, college: Ohio St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds. Center Wei-Qing Liao (180) contributed with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. point guard Qin-Yu Huang (168) replied with 17 points and 5 rebounds for Taipower. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Taiyuan T. maintains third position with 9-13 record having eleven points less than leader Cathay Life. Taipower lost ninth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 17 games lost. At the losing side the former international swingman Yushu Lin (168-1996) responded with 17 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Tigers have an impressive 16-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 20-2 record. Chunghua T. at the other side keeps the second place with 12 games lost.
