Wendell Lewis gets MVP of the Week award for Taiwanese SBL (by Hoops Agents)

Experienced American Wendell Lewis (204-C-1989) put on an amazing game in the last round for Keelung Black Kites and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents SBL Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 36-year old center had the game-high 31 points adding eight rebounds for Keelung BK in his team's victory, helping them to beat Changhua (#5, 5-10) 81-68. Keelung BK maintains the 3rd position in Taiwanese SBL. Keelung BK is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 8-7 record. Lewis just recently signed at Keelung BK, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Alabama State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Lewis is in league's top in points (3rd best: 21.9ppg), rebounds (5th best: 11.8rpg) and averages solid 2.0bpg and 62.2% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American James Padgett (203-C/F-1991) of league's best team Bank of Taiwan. Padgett impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 18 points and 22 rebounds. It was enough for Bank of Taiwan to edge the lower-ranked Taiwan Beer (#4, 6-10) by 1 point 84-83. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Bank of Taiwan consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. His team has currently 10-5 record. Padgett is a newcomer at Bank of Taiwan and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 14.9ppg (#5). He also registered 12.3 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Gerard Tarin (205-F-1996) of Taiwan Beer (#4). Tarin got into 30-points club by scoring 33 points in the last round. He went also for five rebounds . Despite Tarin's great performance the Taiwan Beer lost 83-84 to #1 ranked Bank of Taiwan. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of Taiwan Beer not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 10 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Tarin could try to bring Taiwan Beer's a little bit higher in the standings. Tarin has individually a great season in Taiwan. After 16 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 22.3ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 12.7rpg (3rd best). Tarin attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on his way to pro basketball.
