Cheslek number one in Taiwan WSBL for round 17 (by Hoops Agents)

American Center Shelby Cheslek (196-C-1992, agency: LBM Management) put on an amazing game in the last round for top-ranked Cathay Life Tigers, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 17.
The 33-year old player had a double-double of 19 points and 14 rebounds, while her team beat Taipower (#4, 5-12) 70-58. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Tigers to consolidate first place in the Taiwanese WSBL. Cathay Life have a solid 15-2 record. Cheslek just recently signed at Tigers, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Shelby Cheslek averages this season 14.2ppg and 9.6rpg.

The second best player in last round's games was American Oshlynn Brown (185-F) of league's second-best Chunghua Telecom. Brown had a very good evening with a double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds. Of course she led Chunghwa Telecom to another comfortable win 76-59 over slightly lower-ranked Taiyuan T. (#3, 6-11) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Chunghua T. consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. Her team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 8-9 record. Brown is one of the most experienced players at Chunghua T. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.6ppg (#1). She also registered 11.6 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Cathay Life's star - center Yu-Wen Hsiao (184-C-2005). Hsiao scored 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). She was another key player of Cathay Life Tigers, helping her team with a 70-58 win against #4 ranked Taipower. Tigers confirms their top position in the standings. Hsiao has a great season in Taiwan. After 17 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 13.8ppg (2nd best), rebounds with 14.4rpg (#1 in league) and assists with 2.5apg (7th best). She also has 1.4bpg and a FGP of 56.0%.
