Ukrainian Artem Kovalov (208-F/C-1997, agency: BIG) had an amazing evening in the last round for Hsinchu Yankey Engineering and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents PLeague+ Player of the Week award for round 11.
The 28-year old power forward had a double-double of 24 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Ghosthawks (#2, 9-8) 107-92. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. YKE maintains the 4th position in Taiwanese PLeague+. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. YKE have already lost 10 games and recorded just two victories. In the team's last game Kovalov had a remarkable 70.6% from 2-point range. He just recently signed at YKE, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Artem Kovalov averages this season 18.0ppg and 9.4rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another YKE's star - young Lithuanian center Mindaugas Kupsas (216-C-1991, agency: BIG). Kupsas impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds. Of course together with Kovalov he helped Hsinchu Yankey Engineering with another comfortable win 107-92 over slightly higher-ranked Ghosthawks (#2, 9-8) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. YKE consolidated its place in top 4 of the standings. 10 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories YKE managed to get this year. Kupsas is a newcomer at YKE and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.8ppg (#7). He also registered 10.8 boards per game.

The third best performed player last round was American Troy Gillenwater (205-F-1988) of Dewa United Banten (#3). Gillenwater showcased his all-around game by recording 18 points, 14 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. He was a key player of Dewa United, leading his team to a 116-89 easy win against #2 ranked Ghosthawks. The chances of Dewa United not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 9 games, recording just five victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Gillenwater could try to bring Fubon Braves's a little bit higher in the standings. Gillenwater has individually a great season in Taiwan. After only 9 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.4ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 7.7rpg (6th best). He also has a FGP of 55.1% and 3PT: 44.7%.

Other top performing players last week:
4. Ray McCallum (191-PG-1991) of Ghosthawks - 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists
5. Archie Goodwin (196-G-1994) of Fubon Braves - 23 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists
6. Mouhamed Mbaye (208-F-2001) of Fubon Braves - 19 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists
