WSBL Round 16 (Regular Season): Taipower lose to Taiyuan T.

The most important game in the last round was the one between third ranked Power (5-11) and fourth ranked Taiyuan Textile (6-10) on Wednesday night. Power was defeated by Taiyuan Textile 54-71. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Ajae Petty (190-2002, college: Ohio St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds. The former international forward Ching Zhuo (172-1997) contributed with 17 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. point guard Rui-Zhen Song (160) replied with 11 points and 9 rebounds for Taipower. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Taiyuan T. moved-up to third place. Taipower lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom position with 11 games lost. Taiyuan T. are looking forward to face league's second-placed Chunghua T. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Taipower will play against the league's leader Cathay Life and is hoping to win this game.
An interesting game for Tigers (14-2) which played against their biggest opponent Chunghwa Telecom (7-9). First ranked Tigers managed to get a 13-point victory 65-52. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Shelby Cheslek (196-1992, college: Gonzaga, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points, 16 rebounds and 4 blocks and I-Hsiu Cheng who added 15 points during the contest. At the losing side American forward Oshlynn Brown (185, college: Rutgers) responded with 8 points and 16 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tigers have an impressive ten-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 14-2 record. Chunghua T. at the other side keeps the second place with nine games lost. Cathay Life will play against bottom-ranked Taipower (#4) in the next round. Chunghua T. will play against Taiyuan T. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
