WSBL Round 14 (Regular Season): Chunghua T. is defeated by Taiyuan T.

The most important game in the last round was the one between second ranked Chunghwa Telecom (6-8) and fourth ranked Taiyuan Textile (5-9) on Saturday night. Chunghwa Telecom was defeated by Taiyuan Textile 64-52. The former international forward Ching Zhuo (172-1997) scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and center Wei-Qing Liao (180) chipped in 11 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. American forward Oshlynn Brown (185, college: Rutgers) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Taiyuan T. moved-up to third place, which they share with Taipower. Chunghua T. at the other side keeps the second position with eight games lost. Taiyuan T. is looking forward to face league's leader Cathay Life in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Chunghua T. will play against Taipower and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Even 8 points and 6 rebounds by center Zi-Yu Yang (180-1995) did not help to save the game for Taipower. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tigers (12-2) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position. Taipower at the other side keeps the third place with nine games lost. They share the position with Taiyuan T.. Cathay Life will play against bottom-ranked Taiyuan T. (#4) in the next round. Taipower will play against the league's second-placed Chunghua T. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Cathay Life forced 24 Taipower turnovers and outrebounded them 51-27 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Cathay Life players were unselfish on offense dishing 30 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Taipower's players.
