Cathay Life inks Shelby Cheslek, ex Xiamen

Shelby Cheslek

Cathay Life Tigers (WSBL) signed 33-year old American center Shelby Cheslek (196cm-1992, college: Gonzaga, agency: LBM Management). She joins another USA player Jeanna Cunningham who is already in the roster.
She just played at Xiamen Egrets in Chinese WCBA. In 17 games she had 9.9ppg, 6.6rpg, 1.2apg, 1.0spg and 1.1bpg last season. The last season summer she played at Leonas in Puerto Rican league.
She is quite experienced player. She has played in ten different countries on four different continents (Europe, Latin America, Australia and of course North America). Cheslek has played professionally in Australia (Diamond Valley Eagles and Pirates), Finland (Forssan Alku), Greece (Niki Lefkadas and Dafni Agioy), Hungary (PINKK-Pecsi), Mexico (Correcaminos), New Zealand (Hoiho), Puerto Rico (Montaneras), Spain (Ferrol) and Turkey (Burhaniye and Fenerbahce).
Among many awards her team made it to the Finnish League Semifinals in 2024. She was also voted Eurobasket.com All-Finnish League Center of the Year in 2024.
Cheslek graduated from Gonzaga University in 2016 and it is her tenth season as a professional player.
