Hsinchu Yankey Engineering inks Artem Kovalov

Artem Kovalov

Hsinchu Yankey Engineering (PLeague+) agreed terms with 28-year old Ukrainian international power forward Artem Kovalov (208cm-98kg-1997, agency: BIG). He started the season at BBC Bayreuth in German ProA. In 11 games he had 9.8ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.1bpg. The last season summer he played at Tangerang Hawks (IBL) in Indonesian league where in 6 games he recorded very impressive stats: 15.7ppg, 11.7rpg and 1.5apg.
He has been also a member of the Ukrainian international program for some years. Kovalov has regularly played for the Ukrainian senior team since 2022 and previously for the University National Team back in 2019.
He also represented Ukraine at the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2027 European Pre-Qualifiers last year. Kovalov's team won Silver and he had over 7 points per game.
Kovalov is quite experienced player. He has played also in Estonia (Kalev/Cramo, Viimsi and Keila Coolbet), Indonesia, Japan (Excellence), Lithuania (Pieno Zvaigzdes Pasvalys), Spain (Clavijo) and Ukraine (Khimik, BK Khimik Yuzhny 2nd team and Kyiv Basket).
Among many awards his team won Ukrainian Superleague Regular Season in 2021. Kovalov was voted Eurobasket.com All-Ukrainian Higher League Player of the Year and Eurobasket.com All-Ukrainian Higher League Domestic Player of the Year back in 2017.
