WSBL Round 10 (Regular Season): Taipower lose to Taiyuan T.

The most important game in the last round was the one between second ranked Power (4-6) and fourth ranked Taiyuan Textile (4-6) on Friday night. Power was defeated by Taiyuan Textile 46-61. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Taiyuan T. made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Yu-Lin Ye (163) who helped to win the game recording 15 points and 4 assists. Center Wei-Qing Liao (180) contributed with 15 points for the winners. point guard Rui-Zhen Song (160) replied with 16 points and 6 rebounds for Taipower. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Taiyuan T. moved-up to second place, which they share with Taipower and Chunghua T. Taiyuan T. is looking forward to face league's leader Cathay Life in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Taipower will play against the league's second-placed Chunghua T. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game for Tigers (8-2) which played against one of their biggest challengers Chunghwa Telecom (4-6). First ranked Tigers had an easy win 80-50. Center Yu-Wen Hsiao (184-2005) scored 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Ya-En Han chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side the former international guard Szu-Chin Pan (170-1992) responded with 10 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tigers have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 8-2 record. Chunghua T. at the other side dropped to the second place with six games lost. They share the position with Taipower and Taiyuan T.. Cathay Life will play against bottom-ranked Taiyuan T. (#4) in the next round. Chunghua T. will play against Taipower and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Center Yu-Wen Hsiao (184-2005) scored 14 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international forward Ya-En Han (180-1995) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international guard Szu-Chin Pan (170-1992) responded with 10 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Oshlynn Brown (185, college: Rutgers) scored 9 points.
