WSBL Round 7 (Regular Season): Taiyuan T. lose to Chunghua T.

The game between third ranked Taiyuan Textile (3-4) and fourth ranked Chunghwa Telecom (3-4) was the most important one in the last round on Thursday night. Taiyuan Textile was defeated by Chunghwa Telecom 49-66. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Szu-Chin Pan (170-1992) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international power forward Hsiang-Ting Huang (180-1993) contributed with 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Chunghwa Telecom's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Emily Maupin (192-1999, college: Virginia) answered with 19 points and 8 rebounds for Taiyuan T.Chunghua T. moved-up to second place, which they share with Taipower and Taiyuan T. Chunghua T. is looking forward to face league's leader Cathay Life in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Taiyuan T. will play against Taipower and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
An interesting game for Tigers (5-2) which played against their biggest opponent Power (3-4). First ranked Tigers had an easy win 85-33. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Power. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Ping Luo (168-1996) who led her team to a victory scoring 17 points and 5 rebounds. Yu-Wen Hsiao helped adding 12 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side Zhir-Ong Ding (178) responded with 6 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains first place with 5-2 record. Taipower at the other side keeps the second position with four games lost. They share it with Taiyuan T. and Chunghua T.. Cathay Life will play against league's second-placed Chunghua T. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Taipower will play against Taiyuan T. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Cathay Life - Taipower 85-33

An interesting game for Tigers (5-2) which played against their biggest opponent Power (3-4). First ranked Tigers had an easy win 85-33. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Power. Cathay Life held Taipower to an opponent 20.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 51.7 percent accuracy of the winners. Cathay Life forced 19 Taipower turnovers and outrebounded them 40-26 including a 31-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Cathay Life especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 62.5 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Ping Luo (168-1996) who led her team to a victory scoring 17 points and 5 rebounds. Center Yu-Wen Hsiao (184-2005) helped adding 12 points and 7 rebounds.
