Song number one in Taiwan WSBL for round 5

Point guard Rui-Zhen Song (160-PG) had a very impressive game in the last round for Taiwan Power, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The player was the main contributor (22 points, five rebounds and two assists) to her team's victory, helping them to beat Taiyuan T. (2-3) 87-73. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Power is placed at 3rd position in Taiwanese WSBL. Taipower is currently ranked second from the bottom. They need more victories to improve their 2-3 record. Song turned to be Power's top player in her first season with the team. Rui-Zhen Song has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (2nd best: 14.0ppg), assists (2nd best: 3.8apg) and averages impressive 2.6spg.

The second best player in last round's games was young Yu-Wen Hsiao (184-C-2005) of league's leader Cathay Life Tigers. Hsiao had a very good evening with a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Tigers was edged by slightly lower-ranked Chunghua T. (#2, 2-3) 63-61. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Cathay Life still maintains its place as the top team in the standings, even despite this loss. It was just her team's 1st loss this season, while they won 4 other games. Hsiao is well-known at Cathay Life and is a proven leader in her second season with the team. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 14.0ppg (#3). She also registered 15.2 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Taipower's star - international forward Yi-Wen Zhang (173-PF-1996). Zhang scored 16 points and passed 6 assists. She was another key player of Taiwan Power, helping her team with a 87-73 easy win against #4 ranked Taiyuan T.. The chances of Power ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 3 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Zhang could help Taipower to bring them higher in the standings. Zhang has a great season in Taiwan. After only 5 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 10.2ppg (8th best) and assists with 3.2apg (5th best).
