Gerard Tarin gets MVP of the Week award for Taiwanese SBL

American Gerard Tarin (205-F-1996) had an amazing evening in the last round for Taiwan Beer and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents SBL Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 29-year old forward had a double-double of 28 points and 18 rebounds, while his team beat Changhua (#2, 1-1) 83-68. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Taiwan Beer is placed at 4th position in Taiwanese SBL. Taiwan Beer is currently ranked second from the bottom. They need more victories to improve their 1-2 record. In the team's last game Tarin had a remarkable 73.3% from 2-point range. He turned to be Taiwan Beer's top player in his first season with the team. Nova Southeastern University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Tarin is in league's top in points (2nd best: 21.3ppg) and rebounds (4th best: 12.7rpg). Worth to mention Tarin played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American power forward Brandon Moss (204-PF-1994) of Yulon Luxgen Dinos. Moss impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 29 points and 19 rebounds. Bad luck as Yulon Luxgen lost that game 69-81 to Bank of Taiwan (1-1). The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Moss is one of the most experienced players at Yulon Luxgen and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.3ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 16.7rpg and 7.7apg.

The third best performed player last round was American Wendell Lewis (204-C-1989) of top-ranked Keelung Black Kites. Lewis scored 24 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. He was a key player of Keelung BK, leading his team to a 80-69 win against Yulon Luxgen (#5, 1-2). Keelung BK has a very good start of the season. But there were just 2 games played, so it's too early to judge them at this stage. Lewis also has a very good start of the season with very strong stats. Lewis has a great season in Taiwan. After only 2 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.5rpg (5th best).
