Willis' double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

29-year old CYP-USAn center Darral Willis (206-C-1996) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Taipei Taishin Mars and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
He had a double-double of 39 points and 20 rebounds, while his team beat Kaohsiung A. (#7, 3-8) 96-91. Taipei TM is placed at 3rd position in Taiwanese league. Taipei TM is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 5-5 record. In the team's last game Willis had a remarkable 65.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Taipei TM's top player in his first season with the team. Wichita State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Willis is in league's top in points (2nd best: 25.8ppg) and rebounds (2nd best: 12.8rpg).

Second best performed player last round was Drew Pember (211-F/C-2000) of Hsinchu Lioneers. He is American forward in his first season at Lioneers. In the last game Pember recorded an impressive double-double of 34 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as Lioneers was edged by slightly higher-ranked Taipei TM (#3, 5-5) 100-98. This loss caused Lioneers to drop to 5th position in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 4-5 record. Pember is a newcomer at Lioneers and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.1ppg (#6). He also registered 13.6 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to Bogdan Bliznyuk (198-SF-1995) of Kaohsiung Aquas (#7). Bliznyuk got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for thirteen rebounds and eight assists. Despite Bliznyuk's great performance the Aquas lost 91-96 to the higher-ranked Taipei TM (#3, 5-5). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Kaohsiung A. can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 3-8 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Bliznyuk has a very solid season. In 3 games in Taiwan he scored 25.7ppg.
