McCullough's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

30-year old PHI-USAn forward Chris McCullough (208-F-1995) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's best team Taiwan Beer Leopards and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
He had a double-double of 29 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat N.Taipei CTBC (#2, 4-3) 85-78. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Leopards to consolidate first place in the Taiwanese league. They maintain a perfect record without any lost game in the league. The season is still on an early stage, but Taiwan Beer L. already had a very good start winning all 5 without losing a single one. In the team's last game McCullough had a remarkable 69.2% from 2-point range. He turned to be Leopards's top player in his first season with the team. Syracuse University graduate has very impressive stats this year. McCullough is in league's top in points (7th best: 18.5ppg), rebounds (7th best: 10.0rpg) and averages solid 2.3bpg and 61.9% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Craig Sword (190-SG-1994) of Hsinchu Lioneers. He is American guard in his first season at Lioneers. In the last game Sword recorded an impressive 32 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course he led Lioneers to another comfortable win 108-89 over slightly higher-ranked Kings (#3, 3-4) being unquestionably team leader. This victory allowed Lioneers to leave bottom place moving a little bit up to 5th position in the standings. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 2-2 record is not bad and everything may still change. Sword is a newcomer at Lioneers and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Jayden Gardner (201-F-2000, agency: MSG) of New Taipei Kings (#3). Gardner scored 27 points and grabbed 15 rebounds (!!!). Despite Gardner's great performance the Kings lost 89-108 to slightly lower-ranked Lioneers (#5, 2-2). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Kings ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 4 games, recording just three victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Gardner could help Kings to bring them higher in the standings. Gardner has a great season in Taiwan. After only 7 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 19.1ppg (6th best) and rebounds with 10.7rpg (4th best).
