Dongguan New Century Club earned the second straight win in the Women’s Basketball League Asia Group A. They outscored Cathay Life to remain perfect at the tournament. Shuyu Yang (182-F-2002) came up with 18 points, while Mingling Chen (192-F/C-2000) contributed 16 points for the Chinese side.
Dongguan eked out a 13-12 lead at the first break. The New Century Club maintained the lead throughout the second stanza. Dongguan accumulated a 36-27 halftime lead. They triggered a strong 23-10 rally in the third period to secure a comfortable 22-point cushion at the final break and cruised to the win in the fourth stanza.
Ya-En Han (180-F-1995) tossed in 15 points, while Ling-Chuan Huang (175-F-1994) banked in 11 points in the loss.
