Asia-Basket.com All-Taiwanese WSBL Awards 2025- May 11, 2025![]() Marie Guelich, 30-year old German center from the Taiyuan Textile, was voted the Player of the Year at the Super Basketball League.
She graduated from the Oregon State seven years ago.
Guelich received multiple other awards, was selected as the Defensive Player of the Year, and was chosen to the First Team and Defensive Team.
With Guelich's excellent performance, the Taiyuan Textile achieved the best record of the season in the league, finishing with an impressive 21 to 3 in the regular season.
Her best performance made her team reach the finals but they unfortunately were defeated by Cathay Life 1 to 3.
Guelich was the Player of the Week honoree four times during the 25 campaign.
She led the WSBL in points per game with over 14 and rebounds per game with almost 11.
Guelich has totalled 5 games of 20 or more points and recorded double-doubles in 14 games on the year.
Her 29 points against Cathay Life were the most she scored in the 2025 season.
The standout New Zealander forward Penina Davidson was named to the First Team of the championship-winning Cathay Life Tigers.
She is the California alumna from 2018.
Davidson also earned a spot in the Defensive Team.
Her excellent performance assisted her team in beating Taiyuan Textile 3 to 1 in the final series.
Davidson received Player of the Week award in the league.
Her playmaking prowess was on full display as she secured the second position in points per game averaging over 13 and second spot in rebounds per game with an impressive average of over 10.
Davidson has totalled 2 games of 20 or more points and registered double-doubles in 10 games on the year.
Her 22 points against Taiyuan Textile were the most she scored in the 2025 season.
Among many awards she played in the final of the Australian NBL1 South in 2024.
She was selected to the Asia-Basket All-FIBA Asia Cup First Team in 2023.
Davidson was also selected to the Australiabasket All-New Zealand Tauihi Basketball Aoteroa Second Team in 2023.
She was selected as the Asia-Basket All-FIBA Asia Cup Honorable Mention back in 2021.
The standout forward Ling-Chuan Huang was voted to the First Team of the championship-winning Cathay Life Tigers.
Her excellent performance assisted her team in beating Taiyuan Textile 3 to 1 in the final series.
Huang was previously selected to the First Team last year.
She averaged over 10 points per game in the league.
Huang's 21 points against Chunghua Telecom were the most she scored in the 2025 season.
Among many awards she was selected to the Asia-Basket All-Taiwanese WSBL First Team in 2024.
The standout guard Meng-Xin Chen was chosen to the First Team of the championship-winning Cathay Life Tigers.
She was also named to the Defensive Team.
Chen's excellent performance assisted her team in beating Taiyuan Textile 3 to 1 in the final series.
She had almost 6 points per game that season in the league.
Chen led the WSBL in assists per game with almost 5.
Her 13 points against Taiyuan Textile were the most she scored in the 2025 season.
Wei-Qing Liao, from the Taiyuan Textile, earned a spot in the First Team of Super Basketball League.
She was also voted to the Defensive Team.
Liao's best performance made her team reach the finals but they unfortunately were defeated by Cathay Life 1 to 3.
She was previously named to Honorable Mention last year selection.
Liao recorded almost 9 points and 5 rebounds per game over the season in the league.
She has totalled 2 games of 20 or more points on the year.
Liao's 29 points against Taipower were the most she scored in the 2025 season.
Among many awards she was selected as the Asia-Basket All-Taiwanese WSBL Honorable Mention in 2024.
