Luo's 17 points and 6 assists give her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

28-year old point guard Ping Luo (168-PG-1996) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Cathay Life Tigers and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
She had the game-high 17 points adding five rebounds and six assists for Cathay Life in her team's victory, helping them to crush Taiyuan T. (#1, 21-3) with 19-point margin 84-65. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Cathay Life maintains the 2nd position in Taiwanese WSBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Cathay Life will need more victories to improve their 19-5 record. In the team's last game Luo had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at Cathay Life, through which she has constantly improved. Ping Luo averages this season 7.7ppg.

Second best performed player last round was Yu-Wen Hsiao (184-C-2005). She is a center in her first season at Cathay Life. In the last game Hsiao recorded an impressive double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds. Of course together with Luo she helped Cathay Life Tigers with another comfortable win 76-57 over slightly lower-ranked Chunghua T. (#3, 8-16) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Cathay Life consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. Her team's 19-5 record is not bad at all. Hsiao is a newcomer at Cathay Life and despite she is not a team leader yet, every game she becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third place about best performers goes to center Marie Guelich (194-C-1994) of league's leader Taiyuan Textile. Guelich scored 12 points and grabbed 13 rebounds (!!!). She was a key player of Taiyuan Textile, leading her team to a 64-45 easy win against #4 ranked Taipower. Taiyuan T. confirms their top position in the standings. Guelich has a great season in Taiwan. After 23 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 13.9ppg (best scorer), rebounds with 10.1rpg (2nd best) and assists with 2.3apg (6th best). She also has 1.7bpg and a FGP of 59.3%.
