Ray McCallum gets MVP of the Week award for Taiwanese T1 League (by Hoops Agents)

Experienced American Ray McCallum (191-PG-1991) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Taipei Taishin Mars and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 33-year old playmaker got a double-double of 27 points and 12 assists, while his team crushed Lioneers (#7, 8-19) with 19-point margin 117-98. Taipei TM maintains the 5th position in Taiwanese T1 League. Taipei TM is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 13-14 record. In the team's last game McCallum had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. He turned to be Taipei TM's top player in his first season with the team. University of Detroit Mercy graduate has very impressive stats this year. McCallum is in league's top in points (9th best: 18.0ppg).

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Kennedy Meeks (208-F-1995, agency: Diamond Sports) of Hsinchu Lioneers. Meeks impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 23 points and 14 rebounds. Bad luck as Lioneers lost that game 98-117 to slightly higher-ranked Taipei TM (#5, 13-14). Lioneers are still at the very bottom. 19 lost games are too many comparing to just eight victories Lioneers managed to get this year. Meeks is a newcomer at Lioneers and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders.

The third best performed player last round was American Robert Upshaw (213-C-1994) of Taiwan Beer Leopards (#6). Upshaw showcased his all-around game by recording 16 points, 20 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. Despite Upshaw's great performance the Leopards lost 88-97 to slightly higher-ranked Taipei TM (#5, 13-14). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Taiwan Beer L. not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 15 games, recording just nine victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Upshaw could try to bring Taiwan Beer L.'s a little bit higher in the standings. Upshaw has individually a great season in Taiwan. After 16 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.3rpg (8th best). He also has 1.1bpg and a FGP of 54.4%.
