Guelich's double-double lands her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

30-year old German center Marie Guelich (194-C-1994) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's best team Taiyuan Textile and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
She had a double-double of 16 points and 12 rebounds, while her team beat Cathay Life (#2, 11-4) 79-66. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Taiyuan Textile to consolidate first place in the Taiwanese WSBL. Taiyuan T. has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 14-1. In the team's last game Guelich had a remarkable 54.5% from 2-point range. She just recently signed at Taiyuan Textile, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Oregon State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Guelich is league's best scorer averaging so far 15.3ppg and leads league in rebounds with 10.9rpg. Guelich is in league's top in assists (4th best: 2.7apg) and averages solid 1.9bpg and 61.3% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Penina Davidson (190-F-1995) of league's second-best Cathay Life Tigers. She is New Zealand forward in her first season at Cathay Life. In the last game Davidson recorded an impressive double-double of 15 points and 16 rebounds. Of course she led Cathay Life to another comfortable win 76-58 over slightly lower-ranked Chunghua T. (#3, 5-10) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Cathay Life consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. Her team's 11-4 record is not bad at all. Davidson is one of the most experienced players at Cathay Life and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 13.4ppg (#3). She also registered 9.7 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to another Taiyuan T.'s star - forward Ying-Chieh Wu (179-F-1992). Wu scored 22 points. She was another key player of Taiyuan Textile, helping her team with a 79-66 easy win against #2 ranked Cathay Life. Many experts and fans count Taiyuan Textile as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 14 victories and only one lost game. They are currently at the very top of the standings. Wu has a very solid season. In 15 games in Taiwan she scored 7.5ppg.
