New Taipei CTBC DEA (TPBL) agreed terms with experienced 34-year old U.S. Virgin Islands-Puerto Rican ex-international forward Ivan Aska (201cm-104kg-1990, college: Murray State, agency: 011 Sports). He started the season at Urunday in Uruguayan LUB league. In 12 games he had very impressive stats: 18.3ppg, 10.1rpg and 2.2apg. The last season season he played at Al Ahli Jeddah (SBL) in Saudi Arabian league. He also played 11 games in Saudi Arabian SBL where he recorded 13.1ppg, 6.5rpg, 2.0apg and 1.9spg. The other team he played shortly was Beermen (PBA) in Filipino league.
Aska has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2015.
He also represented U.S. Virgin Islands at the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador (El Salvador) two years ago.
Aska is quite experienced player. Aska's career allowed him to visit four different continents, while he played in thirteen different countries. He tasted the life as a pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Latin America and of course North America. Aska has played previously professionally in Belgium (Leuven Bears), France (Sluc Nancy), Greece (PAOK Mateco Thessaloniki, Kolossos H Hotels Rodou and AE Kallitheas), Hungary (Debreceni Egyetem), Israel (Ramat Gan, Maccabi Ashdod/Gderot, Ironi Nes Ziona and Hapoel Hevel Modi'in), Mexico (Soles), Philippines, Puerto Rico (Cangrejeros), Saudi Arabia, North Macedonia (Rabotnicki), South Korea (KoGas and Knights) and The Basketball Tournament (Team Challenge ALS).
Among many awards his team made it to the Uruguay LUB Semifinals in 2023. He was voted to Latinbasket.com All-Uruguay LUB Honorable Mention in 2023.
He graduated from Murray State in 2012 and it is his 13th (hopefully lucky) (!!!) season as a professional player.
