Taiyuan Textile adds Guelich to their roster

Taiyuan Textile (WSBL) added to their roster 30-year old German international center Marie Guelich (194cm-1994, college: Oregon State). She has played for the last four seasons at Valencia Basket Club in Spanish LF Endesa. In 32 games she recorded 7.5ppg and 3.8rpg last season. She helped them to win the LF Endesa title and the Supercup (twice). Good season as she was named League Player of the Week. Guelich also played 14 games in Euroleague where she averaged 8.1ppg, 4.9rpg and 1.0bpg.
In 2018 she was drafted by Phoenix Mercury (WNBA) in first round (12th overall).
The former Oregon State standout is in her seventh season in pro basketball.
She has been also a member of the German international program for some years. Guelich has regularly played for the German senior team since 2018 and previously for the Under 20 National Team back in 2014.
She also represented Germany at the FIBA Olympic Games in Paris (France) last year. During this event she scored an average of 6.5 points per game and had 5.8 rebounds per game.
Guelich is quite experienced player. She has played also professionally in Italy (Venezia), Poland (Gdynia) and WNBA (LA Sparks and Atlanta Dream).
Among many awards she was voted to Eurobasket.com All-FIBA Women's Eurobasket Honorable Mention in 2023.
