Edgaras Zelionis (ex El Calor) joins Aquas

Edgaras Zelionis

Kaohsiung Aquas (TPBL) agreed terms with experienced 35-year old Lithuanian ex-international power forward Edgaras Zelionis (207cm-97kg-1989, agency: Octagon Europe). He played last season at El Calor in Mexican LNBP. In 14 games just recently he had 12.2ppg, 7.3rpg and 1.4apg. A very impressive season as he was named to Latinbasket.com All-Mexican LNBP Second Team. He also played for Marinos de Oriente (SPB) in Venezuelan league.
Zelionis was also a member of the Lithuanian international program for some years. He played for Lithuanian Senior National Team back in 2018 and previously for the Under 20 National Team in 2009.
Zelionis represented Lithuania at the FIBA World Cup 2019 Qualifiers five years ago. During this event he scored an average of 3.5 points per game and had rebounds per game.
He is quite experienced player. His career allowed him to visit four different continents, while he played in eleven different countries. Zelionis tasted the life as a pro basketball player in Europe, Asia, Latin America and Africa. He has played previously in France (Le Portel), Kazakhstan (Barsy Atyrau), Latvia (Ventspils and Liepaja), Lithuania (Neptunas, Prienu KKSC, Pieno Zvaigzdes Pasvalys and Juventus), Saudi Arabia (Al Wehda), Turkey (Afyon), Ukraine (Khimik and Adzhalyk), Venezuela, Egypt (Al Ittihad Alexandria) and Taiwan (New Taipei CTBC DEA).
Among many awards he won Taiwanese T1 League championship title in 2023. Zelionis was voted to Asia-basket.com Taiwanese T1 League All-Imports Team in 2023.
