Fields number one in Taiwanese SBL for round 8 (by Hoops Agents)

American Power forward John Fields (205-F/C-1988) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for top-ranked Taiwan Beer, receiving a Hoops Agents SBL Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 35-year old player had a double-double of 20 points and 22 rebounds, while his team crushed Bank of Taiwan (#2, 13-11) with 21-point margin 80-59. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Taiwan Beer to consolidate first place in the Taiwanese SBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Taiwan Beer has a very solid 16-8 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. Fields just recently signed at Taiwan Beer, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Former University of Tennessee star has very solid stats this year. Fields is in league's top in points (2nd best: 23.7ppg) and averages impressive 1.2bpg and 73.6% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Brandon Moss (207-PF-1994) of Yulon Luxgen Dinos. Moss had a very good evening with a double-double of 35 points and 20 rebounds. Bad luck as Yulon Luxgen lost that game 80-87 to slightly lower-ranked Changhua (#4, 7-17). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Yulon Luxgen still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 12-12 record is not bad at all. Moss is a newcomer at Yulon Luxgen, but is already one of team's top players.

Third on the list of top players last round was American center Tevin Glass (203-C-1994) of Changhua (#4). Glass scored 29 points and grabbed 12 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Changhua, leading his team to a 87-80 win against #3 ranked Yulon Luxgen. Changhua can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 7-17 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Glass has individually a great season in Taiwan. After 24 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 23.7ppg (best scorer), rebounds with 12.3rpg (2nd best) and assists with 3.7apg (4th best).

7. Hsin-Wei Wang (183-G-1997) of Taiwan Beer - 21 points and 5 rebounds
8. Chen-Yuan Wang (176-G-1998) of Changhua - 12 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists
9. Houng-Yang Tsai (183-G-2000) of Changhua - 20 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists
10. Shao-Fu Lan (195-C-1997) of Yulon Luxgen - 17 points and 4 rebounds

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
