Cayla George gets MVP of the Week award for Taiwanese WSBL (by Hoops Agents)

Experienced Australian Cayla George (193-C-1989) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for league's second-best Cathay Life Tigers and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
The 34-year old center had a double-double of 17 points and 17 rebounds, while her team beat Taipower (#4, 5-19) 72-63. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Cathay Life maintains the 2nd position in Taiwanese WSBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Cathay Life will need more victories to improve their 17-7 record. In the team's last game George had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. She just recently signed at Cathay Life, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Cayla George averages this season 16.3ppg and 11.8rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American center Yemiyah Morris (198-C-1998) of league's best team Taiyuan Textile. Morris impressed basketball fans with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Of course she led Taiyuan Textile to another comfortable win 81-67 over slightly lower-ranked Chunghua T. (#3, 5-19) being unquestionably team leader. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Taiyuan T. consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. Her team lost just three games this season, while they won 21 matches. Morris is one of the most experienced players at Taiyuan T. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another Taiyuan T.'s star - international forward Ching Zhuo (172-F-1997). Zhuo scored 18 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. She was another key player of Taiyuan Textile, helping her team with a 72-49 easy win against #4 ranked Taipower. Taiyuan Textile confirms their top position in the standings. Zhuo has a very solid season. In 24 games in Taiwan she scored 7.8ppg.
