George number one in Taiwan WSBL for round 7 (by Hoops Agents)

Australian Center Cayla George (193-C-1989) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked Cathay Life Tigers, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 7.
The 34-year old player had a double-double of 20 points and 22 rebounds, while her team edged out Chunghua T. (#3, 5-16) 76-72. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Cathay Life maintains the 2nd position in Taiwanese WSBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Cathay Life will need more victories to improve their 14-7 record. George just recently signed at Cathay Life, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Cayla George averages just after three games 19.0ppg, 12.7rpg and 5.0apg.

The second best player in last round's games was young American Yemiyah Morris (198-C-1998) of league's leader Taiyuan Textile. Morris had a very good evening with a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds. It was enough for Taiyuan Textile to edge slightly lower-ranked Cathay Life (#2, 14-7) 77-75. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Taiyuan T. consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. Her team belongs to top of the standings with 19-2 record and is considered one of the main candidates for the league title. Morris is one of the most experienced players at Taiyuan T. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was Wei-Qing Liao of Taiwan Power (#4). Liao scored 20 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Despite Liao's great performance the Taipower lost 60-71 to #1 ranked Taiyuan T.. But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. Taipower can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 4-17 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Liao has individually a great season in Taiwan. After 21 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 13.6ppg (best scorer) and rebounds with 6.3rpg (4th best).
