WSBL Round 7 (Regular Season): Taiyuan T. defeat Cathay Life in the closest game of the week

Second-ranked Cathay Life (14-7) gave a tough game to first ranked Taiyuan Textile (19-2) on Sunday. Taiyuan Textile managed to secure only two-point victory 77-75. However their fans expected easier game. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Cathay Life. Taiyuan T. made 23-of-30 free shots (76.7 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American center Yemiyah Morris (198-1998, college: WVU) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. The former international guard Hsiao-Tong Peng (168-1998) helped adding 15 points. At the losing side Australian center Cayla George (193-1989) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Taiyuan Textile have a solid series of three victories in a row. Taiyuan T. maintains first place with 19-2 record. Defending champion Cathay Life keeps the second position with seven games lost. Taiyuan T. are again looking forward to face league's second-placed Cathay Life in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
