Ying-Li Huang gets MVP of the Week award for Taiwanese WSBL (by Hoops Agents)

Experienced International Guard Ying-Li Huang (170-G-1989) had a very impressive game in the last round for league's leader Taiyuan Textile and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 5.
The 34-year old guard had the game-high 23 points adding nine rebounds and five assists for Taiyuan T. in her team's victory, helping them to beat Cathay Life (#2, 9-6) 78-69. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Taiyuan Textile to consolidate first place in the Taiwanese WSBL. Taiyuan T. has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 14-1. In the team's last game Huang had a remarkable 58.3% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for her as usually she does not deliver so high stats. Huang has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (5th best: 11.0ppg), rebounds (7th best: 3.3rpg), assists (2nd best: 4.1apg) and averages solid 51.0% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American power forward Sidney Cooks (193-F/C-1998) of second-ranked Cathay Life Tigers. Cooks impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds. Of course she led Cathay Life to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked Chunghua T. (#3, 4-11) 92-69. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Cathay Life consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. Her team's 9-6 record is not bad at all. Cooks is one of the most experienced players at Cathay Life and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was another Cathay Life's star - international forward Wei-An Chen (177-PF-1995). Chen scored 16 points and passed 4 assists. She was another key player of Cathay Life Tigers, helping her team with a 92-69 easy win against #3 ranked Chunghua T.. Cathay Life needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 9 victories and 6 lost games. Chen has a great season in Taiwan. After 13 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 11.2ppg (3rd best), rebounds with 4.8rpg (9th best) and assists with 2.8apg (best passer).
