Yu-Wen Xiao gets MVP of the Week award for Taiwanese WSBL (by Hoops Agents)

Yu-Wen Xiao put on an amazing game in the last round for league's second-best Cathay Life Tigers and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
The had a double-double of 17 points and 15 rebounds, while her team edged out Chunghua T. (#3, 2-4) 80-76. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Cathay Life maintains the 2nd position in Taiwanese WSBL. They would have been even better if they did not have these two lost games earlier in Regular Season. Cathay Life will need more victories to improve their 4-2 record. Xiao just recently signed at Cathay Life, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Xiao has impressive league stats. She is league's best scorer averaging so far 14.2ppg and leads league in rebounds with 9.8rpg. Xiao is in league's top in and averages solid 2.3bpg and 58.3% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young international center Pei-Chen Tsai (186-C-1984) of league's best team Taiyuan Textile. Tsai impressed basketball fans with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course Taiyuan Textile cruised to a 73-66 relatively comfortable win over Cathay Life (4-2). A very good start of the season for her team, which won so far all 6 games without any defeat. Tsai is one of the most experienced players at Taiyuan T. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was You-Yiwen Wang (175-G-1996) of Chunghua Telecom (#3). Wang scored 16 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. She was a key player of Chunghwa Telecom, leading her team to a 79-71 win against #4 ranked Taipower in a game of the week. The chances of Chunghua T. not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 4 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Wang could try to bring Chunghua T.'s a little bit higher in the standings. Wang has individually a great season in Taiwan. After only 6 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 9.3ppg (2nd best) and rebounds with 6.2rpg (2nd best).
