The Taipei Fubon Braves (PLeague+) have released 27-year-old USA ex-international center Stephen Zimmerman (211cm-109kg-1996, college: UNLV). Zimmerman had a solid performance this season, averaging 8.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.2 steals per game in 6 PLeague+ games. He also played 1 game in the East Asia Super League, where he recorded 11 points, 13 rebounds, and 1 assist. Last summer, Zimmerman played for Capitanes (BSN) in the Puerto Rican league.
In 2016, he was drafted by the Orlando Magic (NBA) in the second round (41st overall). He attended the University of Nevada - Las Vegas, and this is his eighth season in professional basketball.
He was a member of the USA international program for several years. He was selected for the USA Senior National Team from 2019 to 2022 and had previously been chosen for the Under 18 National Team in 2014.
He's a highly experienced player, having played in eight countries across five continents: Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia, and North America. His professional career includes stints with the Cairns Taipans in Australia, Telekom Baskets in Germany, Rizing in Japan, Twarde Pierniki in Poland, as well as teams in Puerto Rico, the NBA (LA Lakers), the Czech Republic (Nymburk), and the NBA G League (Austin Spurs, South Bay Lakers, College Park SkyHawks, Westchester Knicks, and Capital City Go-Go).
He won the Czech Republic League championship title in 2021 and was voted to the Eurobasket.com Czech Republic League All-Imports Team in the same year.
