Xiao number one in Taiwan WSBL for round 1

Yu-Wen Xiao had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Cathay Life Tigers, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
The player had a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds, while her team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Taipower (#4, 0-3) with 17-point margin 78-61. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Thanks to this victory Cathay Life moved-up to the 2nd position in Taiwanese WSBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost that single game earlier this season. Cathay Life will need more victories to improve their 2-1 record. Xiao just recently signed at Cathay Life, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Yu-Wen Xiao has solid league stats. She is league's best scorer averaging so far 16.3ppg and leads league in rebounds with 9.7rpg. Xiao is in league's top in and averages impressive 2.3bpg and 63.3% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young international guard Ying-Li Huang (170-G-1989) of league's leader Taiyuan Textile. Huang had a very good evening with a double-double of 18 points and 10 assists. Of course Taiyuan Textile cruised to a 73-62 relatively comfortable win over Chunghua T. (1-2). A very good start of the season for her team, which won so far all 3 games without any defeat. Huang is a newcomer at Taiyuan T., but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 13.3ppg (#3). She also recorded 5.3 assists per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was another Taiyuan T.'s star - international center Tieh Lin (182-C-1999). Lin scored 16 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (!!!). She was another key player of Taiyuan Textile, helping her team with a 75-63 win against #2 ranked Cathay Life in a game of the week. Taiyuan Textile started extremely well this year. They recorded 3 victories without losing a single game. Lin turns to be one of the very best players in the league while she is also a leader of the top team having her eyes on the championship title. Lin has a great season in Taiwan. After only 3 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 12.0ppg (4th best) and rebounds with 9.0rpg (2nd best).
