Finland stepped onto pedestal in Chengdu at the World University Games. They overcame Chinese Taipei 56:49 in the game for the 3rd place.
Both teams scored only 11 points in the defensive opening period as Finland later led 23-19 at the halftime. Finland won the third quarter 16-13 whilst both sides nailed 17 points each in the last stanza.
Teresa Seppala (183-G-2002) top-scored for the winners with 12 points and Helmi Tulonen (191-C-1998, college: Duquesne, agency: Agency) notched 11. Wen-Hsuan Hsu (176-C-2000) answered with 9 points in a loss, whilst Yu-Lien Hsu (177-F-1997) delivered 8.
