Taiyuan Textile outrebounded Chunghwa Telecom 50-29 including a 36-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. The former international center Tieh Lin (182-1999) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and the former international guard Hsiao-Tong Peng (168-1998) chipped in 5 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists. Taiyuan Textile's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side the former international guard Szu-Chin Pan (170-1992) responded with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and swingman Yushu Lin (168-1996) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds.
