T1 League Round 39: TB Herobears defeat N.Taipei CTBC

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked N.Taipei CTBC (22-5) against fourth ranked TB Herobears on Saturday night. TB Herobears were defeated by TB Herobears 112-96. It ended at the same time the 13-game winning streak of N.Taipei CTBC. TB Herobears made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 N.Taipei CTBC turnovers and outrebounded them 49-36 including 18 on the offensive glass. TB Herobears looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when TB Herobears made 7 blocks. It was a good game for American guard Michael Qualls (197-1994, college: Arkansas) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. The former international point guard Yu-An Chiang (174-1991) contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists for the winners. American forward Nick King (201-1995, college: MTSU) answered with 20 points and 6 assists for N.Taipei CTBC. TB Herobears maintains fourth place with 13-14 record. N.Taipei CTBC at the other side still keeps top position with five games lost. TB Herobears are looking forward to face higher ranked Aquas (#3) in Kaohsiung in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. N.Taipei CTBC will have a break next round.
The game in Taoyuan was also worth to mention about. Fifth ranked Suns (8-18) played at the court of 6th ranked Leopards (6-21). Suns managed to secure a 4-point victory 97-93. American players dominated the game. It was a great evening for guard Rayvonte Rice (193-1992, college: Illinois) who led his team to a victory scoring 52 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Arnett Moultrie helped adding 12 points and 7 rebounds. Suns' coach Christian Gavina allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The best for the losing side was Deyonta Davis (211-1996, college: Michigan St., agency: MSG) with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 19 rebounds. Suns maintains fifth place with 8-18 record. Leopards lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 21 games lost. Suns will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Leopards will play at home against the league's second-placed GhostHawks (#2) and hope to get back on the winning track.



Taoyuan L. - Taichung Suns 93-97
