T1 League Round 26: N.Taipei CTBC beat Aquas in the most crucial game of the week- February 26, 2023

Taichung Suns - Tainan GH 84-91 The game in Taichung was also worth to mention about. Third ranked GhostHawks (11-8) played at the court of 5th ranked Suns (6-11). GhostHawks managed to secure a 7-point victory 91-84. GhostHawks outrebounded Suns 57-36 including a 46-30 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Suns were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American center Robert Upshaw (213-1994, college: Washington) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 21 rebounds. Indian-Canadian center Sim Bhullar (226-1992, college: NM State) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four GhostHawks players scored in double figures. Iranian-British center Aaron Geramipoor (213-1992, college: Seton Hall) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Raphiael Putney (207-1990, college: UMass) added 13 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Suns. Suns' coach tested eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. GhostHawks have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Suns at the other side keep the fifth position with 11 games lost. GhostHawks will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Suns will play at home against TB Herobears (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Aquas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American forward Nick King (201-1995, college: MTSU) who scored 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds. Latvian center Kaspars Berzins (213-1985) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Four N.Taipei CTBC players scored in double figures. Lithuanian center Mindaugas Kupsas (216-1991, agency: BIG) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists and Jordanian-American center John Bohannon (211-1991, college: UTEP) added 9 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for N.Taipei CTBC. Aquas' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. N.Taipei CTBC have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-4 record. Aquas lost fourth consecutive game. Defending champion dropped to the third place with nine games lost. N.Taipei CTBC are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Leopards (#6) in Taoyuan in the next round where they are favorite. Aquas will have a break next round.
