Top ranked N.Taipei CTBC (9-4) recorded its fourth loss against second ranked Aquas on Sunday night. Aquas were defeated by second ranked Aquas (8-5) 105-87. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of N.Taipei CTBC. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Aquas looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by N.Taipei CTBC helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian center Mindaugas Kupsas (216-1991, agency: BIG) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American-Filipino guard Jason Brickman (183-1991, college: LIU Brooklyn, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 16 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was American Demitrius Conger (196-1990, college: St.Bonaventure) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Defending champion maintains second position with 8-5 record behind leader N.Taipei CTBC. N.Taipei CTBC at the other side still keeps top place with four games lost. Aquas are looking forward to face Suns (#5) in Taichung in the next round. N.Taipei CTBC will play on the road against GhostHawks (#4) in Tainan and is hoping to win this game.
Sixth-ranked Leopards (1-10) made lots of trouble for fourth ranked TB Herobears (7-5). TB Herobears managed to secure only three-point victory 114-111. However their fans expected easier game. It was a good game for guard Xun-Xiang Tsao (181-1999) who led his team to a victory with 25 points and 7 rebounds. Milenko Veljkovic contributed with 19 points for the winners. Nigerian-American guard Michael Efevberha (195-1984, college: CSUN) replied with a double-double by scoring 41 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 7 assists (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!) for Leopards. Leopards' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. TB Herobears have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place. Leopards lost ninth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
