Veljkovic number one in Taiwan T1 League for round 17 (by Hoops Agents)- January 10, 2023
The 27-year old player was the main contributor (29 points, six rebounds and seven assists) to his team's victory, helping them to crush Taichung Suns (#5, 5-7) with 16-point margin 105-89. TB Herobears is placed at 3rd position in Taiwanese T1 League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. TB Herobears will need more victories to improve their 7-5 record. In the team's last game Veljkovic had a remarkable 60.0% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Milenko Veljkovic averages this season 11.0ppg and 6.5rpg. The second best player in last round's games was young Iranian Aaron Geramipoor (213-C-1992) of Taichung Suns. Geramipoor had a very good evening with a double-double of 22 points and 13 rebounds. Bad luck as Taichung Suns lost that game 89-105 to slightly higher-ranked TB Herobears (#3, 7-5). Taichung Suns managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 5-7 record. Geramipoor is well-known at Taichung Suns and is a proven leader in his second season with the team. Third on the list of top players last round was Lithuanian center Mindaugas Kupsas (216-C-1991, agency: BIG) of league's second-best Kaohsiung A.. Kupsas scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Despite Kupsas' great performance Kaohsiung A. lost 92-101 to #4 ranked Tainan GH. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Kaohsiung A. needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 8 victories and 5 lost games. Kupsas has a great season in Taiwan. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.8ppg (8th best) and rebounds with 11.5rpg (3rd best). He also has 1.5bpg and FGP: 54.6%. Other top performing players last week: 4. Branden Dawson (200-F-1993) of TB Herobears - 20 points and 9 rebounds 5. Tony Bishop (202-F-1989) of Taichung Suns - 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists 6. Mao-Wei Ku (175-G-1999) of Tainan GH - 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists 7. Jason Brickman (183-G-1991) of Kaohsiung A. - 14 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists 8. Yu-An Chiang (174-PG-1991) of TB Herobears - 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists 9. Sim Bhullar (226-C-1992) of Tainan GH - 18 points and 9 rebounds 10. Robert Upshaw (213-C-1994) of Tainan GH - 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
