Tony Bishop gets MVP of the Week award for Taiwanese T1 League (by Hoops Agents)- November 28, 2022
The 33-year old forward had a double-double of 26 points and fourteen rebounds, while his team edged out Tainan GH (#6, 1-3) 96-93. Taichung Suns is placed at 2nd position in Taiwanese T1 League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this season. Taichung Suns will need more victories to improve their 3-2 record. Bishop turned to be Taichung Suns' top player in his first season with the team. Texas State University at San Marcos graduate has very impressive stats this year. Bishop is in league's top in points (4th best: 23.0ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 12.6rpg), assists (6th best: 4.6apg) and averages solid 2.2spg and 42.1% from behind 3-point line. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Lithuanian center Mindaugas Kupsas (216-C-1991, agency: BIG) of league's best team Kaohsiung A.. Kupsas impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 16 points and 14 rebounds. Of course he led Kaohsiung A. to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked N.Taipei CTBC (#3, 3-3) 105-81. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Kaohsiung A. consolidated its place in the very top position of the standings. His team has currently 3-1 record. Kupsas is well-known by Kaohsiung A. fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.3ppg (#6). He also registered 11.8 boards per game. The third best performed player last round was another Kaohsiung A.'s star - American Jason Brickman (183-G-1991, agency: Interperformances). Brickman showcased his all-around game by recording 24 points, five rebounds and seven assists in the last round. He was another key player of Kaohsiung A., helping his team with a 105-81 easy win against #3 ranked N.Taipei CTBC. Kaohsiung A. confirms their top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 3 victories and 1 lost game. Brickman has a great season in Taiwan. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 7.5apg (2nd best).
