Xavier Alexander gets MVP of the Week award for Taiwanese T1 League- April 19, 2022
The 33-year old shooting guard had a double-double of 28 points and thirteen rebounds, while his team beat Taoyuan L. (#5, 5-18) 119-104. It allowed Kaohsiung A. to consolidate first place in the Taiwanese T1 League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Kaohsiung A. has a very solid 21-6 record, but they cannot be too comfortable about keeping top position. In the team's last game Alexander had a remarkable four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. It was one of impressive evenings for him as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Xavier Alexander averages this season 10.1ppg and 6.9rpg. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Palestinian Sani Sakakini (204-C/F-1988) of second-ranked Taichung Suns. Sakakini impressed basketball fans with 29 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Of course he led Taichung Suns to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Tainan GH (#6, 5-21) 126-101. Taichung Suns' second position in the standings has not changed. His team's 17-9 record is not bad at all. Sakakini is a newcomer at Taichung Suns and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 25.3ppg (#4). His other stats are also decent: 13.9rpg and 5.2apg. The third best performed player last round was American Troy Williams (201-SF-1994, agency: MSG) of Taoyuan L. (#5). Williams got into 30-points club by scoring 35 points in the last round. He went also for ten rebounds and seven assists. Despite Williams' great performance Taoyuan L. lost 104-119 to the higher-ranked Kaohsiung A. (#1, 21-6). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. Taoyuan L. can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 5-18 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Williams has individually a great season in Taiwan. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 21.2ppg (9th best) and rebounds with 9.1rpg (9th best). Other top performing players last week: 4. Will Artino (211-C/F-1992) of Tainan GH - 19 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists 5. Jason Brickman (183-G-1991) of Kaohsiung A. - 16 points, 5 rebounds and 16 assists 6. Ferrakohn Hall (203-C/F-1990) of Kaohsiung A. - 31 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists 7. Anthony Tucker (193-G-1989) of Taichung Suns - 14 points, 9 rebounds and 10 assists 8. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
